Cory Waldron, 19, is being held on $25,000 bail at the Southwest Detention Center after a violent attack against a restaurant employee in Temecula. Riverside County Sheriff’s were initially contacted by concerned onlookers that watched the teen running into traffic. The deputies then received an unnerving call that Waldron was involved in a violent attack on a Temecula restaurant employee. When a deputy with the department attempted to subdue Waldron, the teen repeatedly struck him in an attempt to resist the arrest. The Sheriff’s eventually called in a K-9 to assist with stopping Waldron, which did little to deter him according to authorities. A Taser gun was eventually successful in ending the young man’s struggle. Waldron was arrested on a number of charges including battery, resisting arrest, assault with a deadly weapon and suspicion of removing a police officer’s firearm.
