Brodie Durazo, 21, of Buena Park is believed to have sprayed graffiti at a Sikh Temple located at 7122 Orangethorpe Avenue. Durazo has been charged with felony vandalism after a vulgar phrase was sprayed on a commercial truck on the religious property and across the parking lot walls. Durazo has since apologized to the group indicating that he was under the influence of alcohol and not meant as hate speech against the group. The vulgar phrase sprayed on the site referred to the Islamic State group. Durazo has since acknowledged that Sikhism is not affiliated with Islam. He posted a $20,000 bail and awaits a February 8 court appearance at an Orange County Superior Court.
