We posted bond for a client in August and they did not appear in court. So we did the natural thing and called the client and asked what happened? The client responds she is in New York and doesn’t have the money to come back and take care of her case. She kept in communication with us until today when she showed up at West Court and the judge remanded her.
So, the question is; what do we do? Do we leave her in jail since she skipped bail on us? Do we post a rewrite bond so she can get back out and go back to New York only to have to come back to court in two weeks? If we do post bond what is the likelihood she will come back again? Keeping in mind this is a rewrite bond that we don’t charge for. decisions….decisions…..
Yes, we posted bond for her again!
