I first want to say how much I love this idea in its entirety. Using actual burglars to explain what they look forward is a brilliant idea and information like it should be utilized all the time. If you watch the videos a lot of the things they say seem like common sense, but in the information age common sense has become a lot less common.
Some of the things they spoke about that stuck out to me was the one gentleman said that all robberies are an opening of opportunity. They consistently are looking for that opportunity, some take bigger risk than others but if a person is strung out on drugs they will become sloppy and may make mistakes. However, a professional or more of a career criminal would be much more calculating than a strung out drug user.
The other thing I liked that was said; was the man who said an aware neighbor would ask questions. Here is a gentleman at your door, without a car in sight asking you for someone you never heard of before? Why would you not ask more questions to vet this person who is coming into your community? That could also be quite neighborly to help one of your neighbors guest find the person they are looking for, would you not agree? I know that we all have busy lives, always have so much to do and so much on our minds but if you do not take the time to protect yourself, who will? Police officers rarely stop something from happening in the moment, they are a more reactive solution as oppose to a proactive one.
Something else to add from a blog post I did last month, points out a correlation with Prop 47 and the rise in property crimes in California.

And now this information becomes even more important with current studies on how Prop 47 is affecting California and their findings. Please take this information to heart and like it said in the video look for the weakness in your home/ community and make the correct adjustments.
