Suspect believed to have started 9 California Fires held on Bail
Brandon McGlover, 32, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail after prosecutors with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office allege that he intentionally set 9 California fires. The fires are spread near the San Jacinto Mountains including the Cranston Fire in Idyllwild which now covers over 18 square miles. McGlover is scheduled to appear in the Southwest Justice Center of Murrieta this afternoon. He will be arraigned on 15 felony counts including arson. It is unclear why Mr. McGlover set the fires.
There are multiple fires burning across the state including those in Northern California which have devastated structures and caused fatalities. The Ferguson Fire in Yosemite National Park has caused numerous evacuations and threatens the huge sequoia that are thousands of years old. The fire has reached over 45,000 acres. Hot and dry weather breeds wildfires across California. Intentionally set fires are met with the full force of the law.
