Paula Lopez, a popular TV Anchor with KCOY (Channel 12), was arrested for a San Diego DUI and assault on an officer. The California Highway Patrol claims that during her arrest she kicked two officers. CHP was called to the Northbound 101 with reports of a wrong way driver in a Silver Toyota Prius. Working with the Sheriff’s Department, CHP found the vehicle parked in a nearby parking lot. Lopez was reported as the driver of the vehicle. It is reported that she resisted arrested and took a blood test. She was booked on $5000 bail but was later released on her own recognizance.
This is not the embattled TV anchor’s first run in with the law. She was arrested 2 years ago for public intoxication. She was open about her alcohol addiction and went to treatment for her struggle. Lopez is married to retired Judge Frank Ochoa.
