Review of the Best Jails in Orange County

By Guest Contributor: Christopher J. McCann an Orange County Criminal Defense & DUI Attorney.

If you have been arrested or convicted and are about to be detained in jails in Orange County, you need to read some reviews on the best jails in Orange County area. There are four jails in the custody operations division of this county to choose from. So this review will rank the top 3 best jails in OC which Scott Cook of Premiere Bail Bonds approved like a TripAdvisor type hotel accommodation review, with a reply of “Sort of like an all inclusive trip with bag lunches, room service, and laundry services etc. … I like it!”

If you or someone you love is to be incarcerated, it is suggested that you do some research on the different types of facilities available in your area, as the potential accommodations may factor in to your how serious a charge you may accept during the plea bargaining process. You can contact your attorney or bail bondsman to find out more about the correctional facilities in Orange County; however, in the mean time here is a review of the OC jails.

3rd Place: Best Jail in OC:

Goes to…. Santa Ana OC Central Jail Complex

Let’s just kindly give this jail 1 star out of 5

The Central Jail Complex in Santa Ana holds thousands of inmates. This facility is very busy and takes a while to process those who are arrested or being transferred. So have patience with the deputies. The Intake Release Center is right next door to the Central Jail Complex in Santa Ana, OC. This is where inmates get processed and booked. The IRC is only a transitional facility, so it can hold inmates for a short period of time. This facility holds both male and female inmates.

2nd Place: Best Jail in OC

Goes to…. Theo Lacy Facility Jail in Orange

Will give this jail 1 and half stars out of 5

The Theo Lacy facility is the largest jail on Orange County. It holds over three thousand inmates and is located in the City of Orange. Since this was renovated in 2006, it is relatively cleaner and nicer. There are a number of outdoor activities inmates can participate in. Theo Lacy Jail in Orange also limits the number of inmates per cell to two. There are some cells that use glass instead of bars.

1st Place: Best Jail in OC

Goes to…. James A. Musick Jail in Irvine

Will give the best OC jail a generous 2 stars out of 5

The James A. Musick Facility is a minimum security jail often called “The Farm” or “Camp Snoopy”. This is because there no barbed wires or fences. The facility looks more like a ranch where inmates can enjoy the fresh air. This is located near Irvine where inmates are provided rehabilitative and custodial programs. This is probably one of the best jails in Orange County.

As great as these Orange County jail accommodation reviews may sound, you’ll probably want to play your “get out of jail” Monopoly card and post bail with an honest and professional bail bondsman like Sean Cook at Premiere Bail Bonds.
