Here is a perfect example of how the system itself is rigged! I have been saying it for many years, after seeing it with my own two eye balls. Being still fairly new to this industry, one of the first things I noticed was the stigma about bail bonds. I once was handing out shirts to friends and there were some friends of theirs there, when I had him a shirt he looked at it and said “I am not going to need that!” I thought to myself, “That’s what they all say!” but said “ok!”
In this perfect example of how you can still be an upstanding citizen and not commit any major crimes in your whole life, most people still will get a few minor traffic tickets in their lifetime. The way the system is rigged is to keep your name in the system and drain you for as much as they can in that time frame. As this video shows, the theft of a $2 can of beer resulted in a $270 ticket and then the state spends $3,000.00 in taxpayer’s money to enforce the law with 60 days in jail for this gentleman. Any CFO in the world would look at that business model and see how it doesn’t make fiscal sense.
I do like the lawyer’s idea of how people can be punished for their crimes that are built around the person ability to pay. The biggest benefit about using a bail bonds company like Premiere Bail Bonds is that if you do commit a crime we can get you out and back to work while you’re working on your case. That equates to not losing your job, no loss of wages etc. A lot of people in the U.S. are one income house hold, I hear it all the time, “I need to get my spouse out because he/ she is the provider of our household and he/ she needs to get back to work!”
I am sure I sound like a broken record by now but what I am saying is true, the system is broken. I think the key in making this system work better is working with people not against them. Yes, people commit crimes and should be punished but I shouldn’t ruin your life unless it is a violent crime and you hurt other people. No one should have to do time for these non-violent traffic offenses but at the moment it is a completely real threat to our lives and can happen to anyone of us at any time and the people it hurts most are the people living paycheck to paycheck.
