Once upon a time there was a girl named, Stephanie Plum, who doesn’t know what to do with her life after being fired from her job at Macy’s. Knowing that she needs to get a new job as soon as possible, she is hired as a bounty hunter in Trenton, New Jersey. For those of you who may not know,Trenton is the state capital of New Jersey, where the crime rate is quite high.
“One For the Money” is the first book in a series of novels introducing a quirky female bounty hunter named, Stephanie Plum, written and created by best-selling author Janet Evanovich. The author apparently likes to use numbers in her titles like “Hot Six” and “Smokin’ Seventeen”, which are among 18 published to date. Will this become a new movie franchise? The box office numbers will tell be the deciding factor factor I’m sure.
Stephanie Plum is the last person you’d expect to be a bounty hunter. She’s somewhat clumsy, never held a gun in her life until she got this job, and she does things a little on the unorthodox side, finding herself being ‘exposed’ to some very unusual situations in more ways than one. It’s a trip most people will never take, but with a few laughs along the way, it’s light and may be eye opening.
