Former NFL Player, Jeffrey Leon Webb was released on $120,000 bail in an insurance fraud case that led to his arrest late last month. The former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver is believed to have worked with a number of other people in an elaborate scheme staging auto collisions to collect insurance money. The staged collisions, four in total, allegedly occurred in 2012 and 2013. Insurance adjusters became suspicious because of inconsistencies in the collision reports. The California Department of Insurance says that this is becoming an “epidemic” in the state. According to authorities, Webb used cars that he owned as well as rental cars that insurance coverage was purchased on for the collisions. The former NFL player is due in the Riverside County Superior Court on August 8 for an appearance on the case.
