A Huntington Beach man who often worked as a clown on the weekends is being held on $1 Million Bail after prosecutors charged him with sexual assault. According to authorities, the sexual assaults did not occur while he was dressed as a clown. Gualberto Torres-Vargas, 37, was arrested earlier this month on a number of charges including three felony counts of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 years or younger. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office alleges that the sexual assaults occurred between November 1, 2014 and November 9, 2015 against a 5 and 9 year old. The DA believes that there are more potential victims since Torres-Vargas had access to children when dressed as a clown. They are asking that potential victims contact the District Attorney’s Office. Torres-Vargas is being held at the Orange County jail and represented by the Orange County Public Defender’s Office.
