The Seal Beach Police Department houses a 30 bed detention center. People arrested from Seal Beach and Los Alamitos are temporarily housed in the facility as they wait for a court appearance or transfer to an Orange County Jail facility. The Seal Beach Detention Center also houses Pay to Stay/Work Furlough inmates.
Posting Bail at the Seal Beach City Jail
Immediately after an inmate has completed the booking process, he or she is usually eligible to post bail. Posting bail allows the inmate to be released from jail prior to a court appearance. If you or a loved one has been detained in Seal Beach or Los Alamitos, you need a bail agent that you can trust. Bail can be posted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in most cases. Our bail agents can come to you to make the process as quick and convenient as possible.
Seal Beach Pay to Stay/Work Furlough Program
Eligible inmates can convert county jail time to a pay to stay or work furlough program through the City of Seal Beach. This program allows you a semi-private cell and potentially the ability to leave for work or school through the work furlough program. In order to apply for the pay to stay program, you or your attorney must contact the detention center at (562) 799-4100 x1116 or email sbpdc@sealbeachca.gov. Next, an interview will be scheduled to evaluate your eligibility for the program. You must receive court approval to complete the program. A court order specifying the exact days and times that you are allowed to leave for work must be signed by a judge.
There is a $50.00 cash application fee to begin the process. You may also be required to pass a health evaluation. At the interview you will need to bring a copy of the police report, ID, Social Security Card, Proof of address, health insurance card, application fee and the latest minute order from your case. The program costs $100.00 per day for pay to stay only and $120.00 per day for work furlough. Females are not currently accepted into the program.
