As if we haven’t heard enough about adults sexually abusing children lately, we now have a 41-year-old mother, Nicole Ethel McMillien, from Irvine, being charged with committing lewd acts and oral copulation on a 14-year-old boy who came over to her house to play with her son. Her charges include four felony counts of lewd acts upon a child and two felony counts of oral copulation of a minor under 16 years old.If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of six years and three months in state prison, and a lifetime registration as a sex offender barring her from entering County recreational areas and City parks which have passed the Sex Offender Ordinance. She is currently out of custody after posting $50,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned March 19, 2012, at 8:30 a.m., in Department H-2,Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach.

How traumatizing for this young boy, who’s at an age when his sexual appetite is developing, but should not be acted upon for several more years.
I am proud of this 14-year-old for speaking up and calling McMillen on her actions. This is not permissible behavior and I’m sure his parents are mortified that these unthinkable acts were directed to their son. As a parent, we look to protect our children from these types of situations. Who would have thought that play dates would end up like this?
