State Assembly Candidate and Former Villa Park Council Member, Deborah Pauly, is having a rough go of things after an arrest for driving under the influence in Orange County earlier this month. According to police, Pauly was driving under the influence in Anaheim on September 12, 2015. Pauly crashed her Porsche by hitting a parked car at around 1 am.
The Pauly family is not a stranger to DUI incidents. According to reports, Pauly’s husband was arrested in 2011 for driving under the influence in Anaheim after trying to avoid a DUI checkpoint and crashing his Porsche. The assemblywoman was reportedly in the vehicle with her husband and unable to drive the vehicle home due to her level of intoxication.
Pauly has received scrutiny for anti-muslim comments made in 2011 referring to the crowd at a Muslim charity event as “terrorists.” Authorities allege that the councilwoman made additional anti-Muslim remarks during her most recent run in with the law.
We shall see whether this incident will prevent the assemblywoman from being elected to the 68th District in 2016. All we do know is this is a case where she #MightNeedbBail!
