Questions:

Where will an arrestee be taken upon arrest in Seal Beach?

Seal Beach has a modest jail facility so more than likely the individual in question will be transferred to the Orange County Jail after twenty-four hours unless there are outstanding warrants or the Seal Beach Jail is overcrowded then they will be transferred and booked at the Orange County Jail.

What is the booking process?

The booking process is the procedure in which the inmate is catalogued, photographed and fingerprinted.   In this time the individual may use his/her only phone call and then placed in a holding cell.

Does the Seal Beach jail facility have private jails or pay-to-stay programs?

Yes. Information for private jails can be found at: http://www.crxs.com/CSI_Self_Pay_Jail_programs.htm

How long is the booking process for an inmate ?

The Seal Beach Jail could book an individual in 3-4 hours depending on how busy the facility is.   The Orange County Jail facility can take up to eight to twelve hours and again, it depends on how busy and overcrowded they are.   By calling us right away at 1-800-662-0056, we can substantially cut that time.

How can I post bail/bond for an inmate?

The jail facility in Seal Beach has a bail window open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.   In the Orange County Jail bail can be posted at the IRC Cashier's Office at 550 N. Flower St., Santa Ana. If the inmate has been sentenced, bail cannot be posted. Bail/Bond information will be available approximately six hours after booking time.

When does an inmate have to appear in court?

Usually it takes up to 72 hours for an inmate to be turned over to the court where bail is determined.   You can also find out by calling 714 647-4666 at the Orange County Jail.

How can I get some or all of an inmate's property released to me?

For the Orange County jail facility:   during regular visiting days and times, simply advise the Deputy at the information desk that you need a Property Release Form Complete the form in detail and return it to the Deputy who will obtain the inmate's signature. When the form is signed, the property will be brought to the information desk. You must wait until all of the above steps have been completed. If you do not wait, the property will be returned to storage and the process will begin again when you return. Only in cases of extreme emergency can it be done outside of regular visiting days and times.
