Sarah Montoya, 24, was arrested for killing her 64-year-old grandmother according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Montoya had been listed as a “person of interest” in the death until her arrest on August 7. The grandmother was discovered wrapped in a blanket after allegedly being strangled by her granddaughter. Authorities believe that the 24-year-old mother of four “snapped” killing her grandmother and then wrapping her body in plastic and a blanket. Montoya then fled to Mexico with her young children ranging from 1 to 9 years old. Montoya and her children were detained in Mexico at the Otay Mesa crossing and turned over to US Marshals.
