Child of Former OC Housewives Star Remains in Jail on $1 Million Bail

Legal troubles continue for Joshua Waring, son of Laurie Peterson.  Waring had attempted murder charges refiled against him this month after they were dismissed when an Orange County Superior Court judge ruled that he had been denied his right to a speedy preliminary hearing.  The charges stem from a 2016 shooting.  The incident occurred in Costa Mesa and left one man seriously injured.  The judge in the case granted the defense motion to dismiss after Waring was denied the right to represent himself and was not allowed to question a witness related to the case.  In addition to attempted murder, Waring faces charges of unlawfully discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling, assault with a firearm, shooting at another person from a motor vehicle and evading police while driving recklessly.  The night in question ended in a brief chase that added additional charges of misdemeanor hit-and-run, resisting an officer and battery according to court records.

The Orange County District Attorney immediately refiled charges after the case was dismissed.  If convicted on all counts, Waring could face life in prison.  The case will continue on October 30 where a judge will decide if there is enough evidence for the case to go to trial.  Waring remains in the Orange County Jail on $1 Million bail.  He has continued to face troubles while in jail including possessing alcohol and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Waring’s mother, Laurie Peterson, appeared on the Real Housewives of Orange County.  Waring, 28, has been embattled with drug addiction and other legal troubles for at least the past decade as was documented on the show.
