Posting bail in the Long Beach
Jail can be confusing. The Long Beach
Police Department can take several hours to fingerprint and book
a defendant before the person is ready for bail. The Long Beach Police
Department is located at 100 Long Beach Boulevard (and First Street).
This is where the police accept the bail bond from us.
After they have approved the bail bond and authorized the defendant
for release (usually within 30 minutes), he or she will be released
at the jail location 3 blocks from the police department, at
the southwest corner of Chestnut and Broadway. (Chestnut is
a dead end street.) When a defendant is released, they will come
from an underground ramp. Do not block or go down the ramp. We recommend
that you wait in your car for the defendant to come out.
Below you will find helpful information and contact numbers for
the police department, court system, public defender and district
attorney’s office in Long Beach. Do not hesitate to call us
at 800-662-0056 . We will assist you in every way
we can in your time of need.
