The San Mateo County Jail is located at 300 Bradford Street, Redwood City, California. The Jail takes 3-6 hours to book a new arrestee and another 2-4 hours to release an inmate after they have received a bond. Inmates that appeared in court will not be updated in the jail computer system until after 6:00pm. Once the inmate has been updated they are then eligible for bail.

Directions: Traveling north or south on Highway 101, take the Grand Avenue exit. Proceed west on Grand Avenue, approximately 1.5 miles, to Mission Road. Turn left onto Mission Road. The court will be on your left, halfway through the first block.

Traveling north or south on Highway 280, take the Westborough exit. Traveling south from San Francisco area, turn left onto Westborough. Traveling north from San Mateo area, turn right onto Westborough. Proceed east on Westborough, approximately 1.5 miles, to El Camino Real. Go straight, crossing over El Camino Real. As you cross El Camino Real, the street becomes Chestnut. At the second stop light on Chestnut, turn left onto Mission Road. The Court will be on your right in the middle of the second block.

If you are traveling north on Highway 101, take the Peninsula Avenue exit and proceed over the overpass. When you come off the overpass, enter the left hand turn lane at the first traffic signal. Turn left and you will be on North Humboldt Street. The court will be on your left, halfway through the block.

If you are traveling south on Highway 101, take the Poplar Avenue off-ramp. Turn right at the first traffic signal light and you will be on North Humboldt Street. The court will be on your right, approximately one and one-half blocks on North Humboldt Street after you make the turn.

If you are traveling Highway 280, take Highway 92 East going towards the San Mateo Bridge. Take the Highway 101 North exit. From Highway 101, take the Peninsula Avenue exit and overpass. When you come off the overpass, enter the left hand turn lane at the first traffic signal. Turn left and you will be on North Humboldt Street. The court will be on your left, half way through the block.

Coming from areas north of Redwood City traveling south on Highway 101, take the Whipple Avenue exit. This exit places you on Veterans Blvd. Proceed straight on Veterans Blvd. to Middlefield Road. Middlefield is one short block past the second traffic signal after Whipple Avenue. Turn right onto Middlefield Road. Proceed straight on Middlefield Road to Marshall Street [approximately two blocks from Veterans Blvd.]. Turn right on Marshall. The Hall of Justice and Records is one block down on the corner of Marshall and Hamilton Streets. This is an eight-story building.

If you are traveling Highway 280, take the Highway 92 East exit towards the San Mateo Bridge. Take Highway 101 South, then follow the directions from Highway 101 above to get to the Hall of Justice and Records.

If you are coming from areas north of Redwood City traveling south on Highway 101, take the Whipple Avenue exit. Turn right onto Middlefield Road. Proceed straight on Middlefield Road approximately one and one-half blocks to Hamilton Street. Traffic and Small Claims is in a one-story building sitting back from Middlefield Road and adjacent to Hamilton Street.

If you are traveling Highway 280, take the Highway 92 East exit towards the San Mateo Bridge. Take Highway 101 South, then follow the directions from Highway 101 above to get to the Hall of Justice and Records.
